Whilst based primarily in Greater Manchester and Manchester City centre, we do offer our services further afield generally in the North of West of England, sometimes further South and North too. Do get in touch to find out where we can service your needs.
We work right across Manchester, Greater Manchester and Cheshire, from city centre flats to farmhouses out past Knutsford. Below is the full list of boroughs, towns and postcode areas we get called out to regularly, along with the trades we cover in each. If your town isn't named outright, it's almost certainly still within reach, so just ask. We're generalists in the proper sense of the word: one visit can cover a plastering patch, a flat pack wardrobe, a dripping tap and a dead socket, without you having to book three different people and take three days off work. Trades covered on every job, big or small: Plastering · Flat pack assembly · Painting & decorating · Plumbing · Electrics · Joinery & carpentry · General repairs · Commercial maintenance Greater Manchester All ten boroughs, covering the M, BL, OL, SK and WN postcode areas. Runcorn, Widnes Questions we get asked about coverage Do you cover villages that aren't listed by name? Usually, yes. The lists above cover the main towns within each borough, but we regularly work in the smaller villages and outlying areas around them too. If you're just outside a named town, get in touch with your postcode and we'll confirm straight away rather than guess. Is there a call-out charge for jobs further from Manchester, like Chester or Crewe? For the Cheshire towns further from our base, we sometimes group jobs by area on a given day to keep travel efficient, which can affect how quickly we can fit you in rather than the price itself. Any travel charge, if one applies, is always agreed before the job is booked. Can one visit cover more than one trade, like plastering and plumbing together? Yes, this is one of the main reasons people use The Handyman Company instead of booking separate tradespeople. A single visit can often cover a plastering patch, a leaking tap, some flat pack furniture and a faulty socket, provided the electrical and plumbing work falls within general maintenance rather than a full rewire or major plumbing overhaul. Do you take on commercial premises as well as homes? Yes, across both Greater Manchester and Cheshire. Shops, offices and small industrial units are a regular part of the work, often on a maintenance contract basis rather than one-off visits. Wherever you are on the list above, get in touch and we'll tell you when we can get to you.
